Due to the high cost of living in London, the firm hired non-London lawyers during the coronavirus outbreak.
Most companies have forced employees to work from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Most people said they preferred to work from home even after the outbreak subsided. Although many companies have said that employees must come to the office, some companies understand their psychological problems and allow them to work from home.
Stephenson Harwood is one of the top 50 highest-grossing law firms in the UK. The London-based company employs over 1,100 people. The company also has branches in Paris, Greece, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea.
The company has announced that lawyers and other employees working here can work from home permanently. But it has also imposed a condition that 20% will be deducted from the wages paid to them. A junior lawyer working at this firm would have a starting salary of around £90,000, perhaps £18,000 would be withheld from his pay if he decided to work from home. The new plan will apply to the London office and the company's international offices.
